FAQs

Are you dog-friendly?

Yes — we love dogs! They’re welcome throughout the pub, both in the bar and restaurant areas, and we’re happy to provide water bowls and treats.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

There are wheelchair-accessible areas in both our bar and restaurant, and we also have a side gate with a ramp into the garden.
While we don’t currently have a designated accessible toilet (something we’re hoping to introduce soon), our men’s toilet has no step and can be made available for anyone who needs easier access. We’ll always do our best to assist — if you have any specific accessibility questions, please give us a call before your visit.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes, absolutely! Although we do recommend booking particularly for Sundays, events, themed food nights or for large groups in order to avoid disappointment.

Are muddy wellies welcome?

Absolutely — we’re a country pub, after all! Whether you’ve just hopped out of a tractor or finished a long walk, muddy boots and wellies are always welcome. Just give them a quick wipe on the mats by the doors and you’re good to go.

What activities are there for kids?

We’ve got plenty to keep little ones entertained! There’s a pirate-ship play area and bouncy castle in the garden, and our kids’ menus come with fun activities like word searches and colouring. Our friendly pub dog, Lulu, is always up for a play too!

Do you have high chairs or baby-changing facilities?

We do! High chairs are available, and there’s a baby-changing station in the ladies’ loo — but dads, fear not! If you need to use it, just let us know and we’ll make sure the space is clear for you.

Do you cater to all dietary requirements?

We sure do! Our menu includes a range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes, and our kitchen team will always do their very best to accommodate any/all allergies or dietary requirements — just let your server know when ordering.

Are you near any local walks or attractions?

We’re lucky to be surrounded by beautiful Sussex countryside, with plenty of scenic walks right from our doorstep — including the Downs Link and routes through Henfield village. Our team are always happy to point you in the right direction if you fancy a stroll before (or after) your pint.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

We do — and it’s free! Just ask at the bar for the password.

Do you accept Amex?

Yes, we accept Amex along with all major debit and credit cards.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes — gift vouchers are available upon request. Just email thewheatsheafhenfield@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to arrange one for you.

Do you offer takeaways?

Absolutely! Just give us a call or order at the bar — easy as that.
